“Consider the Creatures”
12″ x 16″ soft pastel on cream Canson Mi-Teintes
This was my third pastel piece to complete and was done with Sennelier soft pastels and Faber Castell pencils. I laid in the shapes of the geraniums very loosely and knew that I wanted a bit of a foggy background with some texture and very soft light behind the hummingbird. Somehow, the ghost of oakleaf hydrangea blossoms began to emerge. ? The hummingbird was so fun because the pastels lend themselves to blending so nicely. Done in March, this was my 3rd pastel piece to complete and was done primarily with Sennelier soft pastels and Faber Castell pencils.
“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life’s span?” – Matthew 6:26-27
