“View From the Guesthouse – Aughnacloy NI” – 9 x 12 on gray Canson Mi-Teintes

This was our beautiful view from the guesthouse we stayed in for one of our 2 1/2 weeks in Northern Ireland. What a beautiful land!! This is a photo I have hung onto for a while, wanting to capture this memory in a painting. I am thankful I waited until I began working in soft pastel to do it. The vibrancy of the colors of pure pigment just wouldn’t have been achievable with another medium. I am super thankful for Schmincke pastel olive green 085H… I am thinking they should rename it Irish Green.
