“And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.” – Matthew 13:23
This was my first time trying Pastelmat, and it proved to be a bit of a challenge at first. I know many artists use and love it, but I had a hard time getting used to how much pastel this sanded paper “eats” as you apply. There was NO blending until I had filled the tooth. I tried Senneliers, Richesons, Unisons… but it was not until I began to use Panpastels that the tooth filled sufficiently to blend. And what a wonder the little plastic knife with a pad was for saving my hands! Once the tooth of the paper was filled in a bit more, I found myself really enjoying the paper and even the blending. It’s definitely a learning process!! This one is named for a song by @fernandoortegamusic that goes along with the verse above.
